CalVary Small Groups

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.
— Acts 2:42

Many of us have been to a small group or Bible study in the past.

Sometimes, the small group is really more like a Christian social meeting - there is a lot of small talk without a lot of growth. Few people actually share anything of depth. You come and you go but you never really grow close to the other people in your small group.

Sometimes, the Bible study is so structured that it’s more like you’re back in high school, where your only job is to take notes and put up your hand if you want to speak.

We pray that small groups at Calvary will be something in between: a place where a group of imperfect people come together to point each other to our perfect Saviour. They come together to do life together. They come to grow in faith through the power of God’s Spirit. They come to support each other in the ups and downs of life, through mutual ministry. They come together to worship the One True God.

In the fall of 2018, we preached through a 7-part sermon series called “Uncommon Community”. Our desire for Calvary is that our small groups would imitate this type of community (if you haven’t already heard the sermon series, we’d encourage you to click on the link above and give them a listen.) If you think you would like to be a part of that Uncommon Community, please sign up to be a part of a small group. If you want to love, forgive, serve, submit, encourage, and be devoted to one another, this might be the place for you.
