Calvary Kids

Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these
— Mark 10:14 (CSB)

Calvary Kids is our way of connecting with the next generation, from newborns all the way to Grade 5. We meet on Sunday mornings downstairs during the 9 a.m. service.. We want to be a part of the support system your family needs to go deep in Christ, live out authentic faith and make disciples.

Nursery

Ages: Newborn to 18 months old
Based on space requirements, our capacity limit for Nursery is: 4 children at each service

If you have children newborn to 2 years, our nursery may be a helpful room for you and your little one. We have dedicated staff who will gladly watch your children while you participate in our service Sunday morning. We also offer a dedicated space for nursing moms equipped with baby supplies and a video feed of the service.

TODDLER

Ages: 18 months to 3 years of age
Based on space requirements, our capacity limit for Toddler is: 8 children at each service

Active toddlers, 18 months to 3 years of age, will have fun in our Toddler Room. Toys and games, along with Bible stories, music and crafts make for an enjoyable, fun-filled morning. Our team of trained and screened leaders is ready to welcome your toddler and spend the morning caring for, playing with, and showing them Jesus’ love. Our goal is to provide opportunities for our toddlers to learn three important truths: God Made Me, God Loves Me, and Jesus Wants to Be My Friend Forever!

Calvary Kids Music

Songs that reflect Biblical truth are so important to plant in the hearts of our kids! Please find two great Spotify playlists below so that your kids can connect with songs that they sing at church and that have Christian values. Save the playlist to your Spotify account so that you can search it easily!

What to Expect Sunday Morning

Please remember that what works for one family does not work for another, so if you would like to have your children in the service with you, they are more than welcome to remain with you. Also, our children’s ministry program is experiencing a season of growth, and there will be Sundays in which our capacity has been reached, and because of this children will need to join their family in the service.

Children’s Ministry opens at 8:30 a.m. If you arrive earlier than that, please stay with our child to give our volunteers time to prepare for their classes. Thank you!

  1. Calvary Kids programs will be offered for nursery, preschool and elementary aged children during the 9 a.m. service only. Our Calvary Kids programs have limited space, and space will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis: In the nursery we will be able to have 4 children, in the toddler class we will be able to have 4 children, in the preschool class we will be able to have 8 children and in the elementary class our numbers are not limited. These numbers are subject to change based on child to teacher ratio.

  2. Parents will need to complete a 2022/23 Parent Consent - Long Form for each of their children prior to attending any Calvary Kids programs.

  3. We recommend parents do a general health check for each of their children prior to attending any Calvary Kids programs.

  4. When you check in as a family, we ask that one parent bring your child(ren) downstairs to their predetermined classroom. At the end of the service we encourage quick picks up.

  5. We will be encouraging parents to take their children to the bathroom upon arrival.

  6. We will continue to use the number notification system upstairs at the front of the church if a child requires assistance. Parents will be assigned a permanent personal identification number (PIN) for their family.

  7. We will be encouraging children to respect personal space during our Calvary Kids programs. While kids will be excited to see each other and play together, please do your best to talk to them about the respecting boundaries.

  8. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the premises.

  9. Personal belongings should be kept to a minimum (ie: water bottles and Bibles) and should be labeled with your child’s name.

  10. Crafts and activities (if available) will be individually prepared ahead of time and given to children by our Calvary Kids volunteers.

  11. Classrooms will be tidied and cleaned before children arrive and after children are checked out.

What We Are Learning

Children enjoy an in-depth study in both Large and Small Group. Through this process, children go deeper into the Bible, through a SUPER BOOK BIBLE EPISODE, become empowered as they memorize Scripture, through the SUPER VERSE and learn to apply what they discover in their everyday lives, by understanding the daily SUPER TRUTH. Lessons also incorporate Signpost videos to reveal the foreshadowing of Jesus Christ throughout Scripture. Each lesson incorporates opportunities for children to PRAY about lesson application, as well as personal prayer application and requests.

Calvary Kids Goals

The goals of Calvary Kids are rooted in the Word of God. We want our children to know and be transformed by the power of the gospel. Every week we look to pray with our kids, point them to Christ and point them to God’s Word. We actively help kids memorize the Word of God and learn the promises that God so that they are equipped with a strong foundation for the future.
