What is a gospel Community?
On Sunday we gather together as the local church to worship God corporately, but every other week we gather in smaller gospel communities (8-12 adults) in order to grow as a family of missionary servants who have been called to make disciples who make disciples. We grow together through four main spiritual disciplines:
1) discussion and application of the preached word of God, 2) prayer, 3) fellowship, and 4) serving in love through word and deed.
WhY Join a gospel Community?
Our gospel community ministry exists to train us as a church to live into our core gospel identities as: FAMILY, DISCIPLES, SERVANTS and MISSIONARIES that we would fulfill our mission to be disciples who make disciples.
LIVING INTO OUR GOSPEL IDENTITIES

Because we have been made apart of the FAMLY OF CHRIST — we GATHER together around the gospel outside of our Sunday morning worship service to grow in relationship with one another.

Because we have been made Disciples of Jesus Christ — we GROW together in the gospel, by not only hearing, but applying the word of God to our daily lives, and holding one another accountable in our obedience.

Because we have been made Servants of Jesus Christ — we GIVE in response to the gospel by offering ourselves (time, gifts, and money) to serve one another, our broader church family, and community in humble acts of service to the glory of God and for the good of the world.

Because we have been made Spirit Filled Missionaries of Jesus Christ — we GO from our gatherings to share the gospel and make disciples who make disciples — praying and actively seeking to have gospel conversations with those God has placed in our lives.
We listen and speak in dependence upon the Holy Spirit to open hearts as we share the hope of the gospel with gentleness and respect.
WHAT TO EXpECT

Our bi weekly gatherings generally include four main spiritual disciplines:
1) discussion and application of the preached word of God, 2) prayer, 3) fellowship, and 4) serving in love through word and deed.All Gospel community members will identify one person to be praying for and intentionally seeking to have gospel conversations with.
GC’s will also prayerfully identify a way they can serve the greater body of Calvary, and/or the Muskoka community in the Fall and Winter.Some GCs regularly share a meal, but for those GCs who do not they will plan to have at least one meal together in the Fall and one in the Winter.

Our GC will have structured gatherings every two weeks from the last week of September to November (5 weeks) and January to early march (5 weeks).
All GC members will be encouraged to live on mission together outside of the structured gatherings by inviting fellow GC members into your life
ie.) going to the park or beach, having a meal together, meeting with individual members for coffee, doing an outreach etc. -
GC’s are generally made up of 8-12 adults with children always welcome.

Structured GC gatherings are generally between 1.5-2 Hrs. Some GC’s regularly eat a meal together and may have longer meeting times.
We want to assure you that once you experience being apart of a GC you will be encouraged and only wanting more time with your GC family.

Our desire is for our GC’s to remain together year by year with the long term vision of multiplication for more disciples of Jesus Christ to be made and formed. Multiplication will be pursued with wisdom and based on each unique Gospel Community.
