This year we are offering both a daytime and evening women's bible study, happening on Tuesdays in the fall and winter.
For the daytime study, coffee and childcare open at 9:45am, and study will start promptly at 10am, and finish at 11:30am. The daytime study will use the church building.
For the evening study, coffee will be ready for 6:15pm, and the study will start at 6:30pm and finish at 8pm. The evening study will use the office building at 150 Royal St. (This will coincide well if you have any youth attending our youth program at the church building.)
We will be respectful of everyone's time, and hold firm to the start and end times.
Our fall study will be "Ruth: Loss, Love and Legacy" from Kelly Minter. This is a 7 week study, with each session clearly laid out in the book. The fall session will be October 13th through November 24th, 2026.
Our winter study will begin at the end of January and run until the end of March. There will be a separate sign up for each study session and time.
There is approximately 20 minutes of homework to complete 5 days of the week so you are prepared for meeting together. (There is no homework to complete before our first session.) The flow of meeting together will look as follows: open in prayer, break into small groups to discuss the homework from the session, watch the teaching video and take notes, continue in your small group to discuss the teaching video questions, and close in prayer. Please note: the video isn't just an overview of the homework, so to get the most out of our study and contribute to your small group, doing the work ahead of time is very important.
What is the commitment?
This bible study will require you to complete work at home ahead of our meeting times as detailed above (approx 20 minutes per day). We ask that you also determine if you can commit to attending the majority of the time (ie. 4 out of 7). If not, maybe this isn't the right time and the next session would better suit your availability. We of course understand that some circumstances cannot be foreseen (or at least not by us!) and we will have grace. We will be using an arranged small group format, with your group remaining the same throughout the course of the study. This will allow women to get to know each other and connect more deeply, while also allowing women to hold each other accountable in a biblical way.
What does childcare look like?
Daytime Study:
We believe that as a body we are to serve one another, and part of the commitment to this study will include serving one of the weeks in childcare. This way the work is shared, and everyone can still participate in studying God's word together and serving. We think this is a blessing to our moms of younger children that we as sisters in Christ can all come together to accomplish.
If you are homeschooling and have a youth aged child that is available during this time, we would love to have them help and have planned for a small compensation for their service. (Of course, for safety we cannot only have youth, so our plan stands as above.)
Evening Study:
There will be no childcare at the evening study.
Can we invite new women to join part way through?
Of course! If you choose to invite someone new, we will place them in your group. The book can be ordered individually through Amazon at any time. Our ask is that you explain we are part-way through this study, and that there is homework to be completed ahead of time. (Maybe you could even photocopy your pages for the week before they come so they can "try" it out!) They can access the video content themselves through the link in the back of the book, and even get caught up if they want. We would never want someone to feel out of place because they weren't aware of these things before coming.
What is the cost?
The cost is $35, which includes your book and helps to cover nominal costs. We would never want the cost to hinder someone from attending and learning God's word, so we are happy to work with anyone to pay what you can.
